Mass. Economic Impact Award Winners 2012

Southeast silver winner: Cheer Pack North America. Early this year the company expanded to a 187,000 square foot facility in West Bridgewater. The company plans to hire 74 new employees by the end of the year.

Cheer Pack North America celebrated its newly operational West Bridgewater packaging plant in September, giving tours of the retrofitted facility that will allow the company to more than double its production.

 

Formerly located in Plymouth, Cheer Pack renovated an approximately 180,000-square-foot space, installing new equipment and infrastructure to create a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week operation, according to Steve Gosling, Cheer Pack president, who spoke at the ribbon-cutting event.

Cheer Pack North America will be co-exhibiting with CDF Corporation at the Heinz Technology Show/TOPS Exhibitions held at H.J. Heinz on September 12, 2012, in Warrendale, PA. Cheer Pack North America is one of twenty-two packaging suppliers selected by Heinz to exhibit. The packaging focus of the show is sustainability, new trends and cost-cutting solutions. Heinz is looking to develop next generation products referred to as "disruptive innovation"; products that can be placed in parameters of grocery stores, or alternative channels that can provide convenience, on-the-go, easy to eat food.

Cheer Pack North America expanded its manufacturing presence in the New England region by moving into a 30,000-square-foot facility in Plymouth, Mass. The facility in the Plymouth Industrial Park features office and manufacturing space. CPNA has expansion plans to convert films and manufacture pouches, as well as injection molding in the very near future. Cheer Pack North America’s business and staff are growing rapidly and further expansion in New England and the West Coast are already underway.
